On 28th May 2023, volunteers and supporters of Moy Area Playgroup will take on the challenge of climbing Slieve Donard. Standing at 2,790ft, it is the highest peak in Northern Ireland and is not an easy climb. We are doing this challenge to help us raise much-needed funds for our cross-community playgroup and it is the most ambitious fundraising initiative we have ever undertaken.
The Education Authority (EA) only partly funds voluntary playgroups such as ours and its up to the playgroups to make up the funding shortfall through community fundraising initiatives. This has been difficult over the past few years, due to the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, making it increasingly challenging to keep operating. Our playgroup has been providing early years learning to the youngest members of our community for over 25 years and we want to continue to serve you all for many years to come.
So we hope that you will support us in our challenge by donating to our fundraiser. We appreciate times are difficult so anything you can give will mean a lot to us.
You can also support us by participating in or sponsoring the climb. Please email moyareaplaygrouppsg@gmail.com to express your interest.
Thanks in advance.
