Story

This July, do something fun with friends, family or neighbours and raise money to help deaf people leave loneliness behind.

A tea party, picnic or BBQ, a bake sale, a sports day, a sponsored fitness challenge anything you like, the choice is yours! With some lovely weather heading our way, a fun outdoor event could be a great chance to spend time with friends and family while changing the lives of deaf people.

More deaf people are coming to us for help than ever before and we want to help as many of them as we can, for as long as they need. You can help us do this by organising a small, fun event or activity for friends, family and neighbours to raise money to help deaf people leave loneliness behind.

Here's how The Big Summer of Fundraising works:

- Sign up at www.hearingdogs.org.uk/summer and download your free fundraising pack full of helpful advice and fun ideas.

- Set up your fundraising page on JustGiving (click on the Start Fundraising button above) and tell your family, friends and work colleagues that you're doing The Big Summer of Fundraising and ask them if they will donate.

- Raise £50 or more and you'll be entered into our prize draw for the chance to win an amazing hamper full of summer themed goodies!

About the charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.
