Meet Billie Eyeless & Obi-Wan Can-No-See
Recently we made the heartbreaking decision to pause taking on major medical cases while we rebuilt our funds.
But these two tiny babies need our help. How do you look at faces like these and say no?
Just two weeks old, they should have had bright futures ahead of them. Instead, they have suffered an eye infection so severe and it simply wasn’t treated in time.
🖤 Billie Eyeless, our tiny black girl, has had both of her eyes destroyed by the infection. There is nothing left to save, and both eyes will need to be surgically removed when she is big enough.
🩶 Obi-Wan Can-No-See, her grey brother, is little better but we believe both of his corneas have ruptured, and he too is likely facing bilateral enucleation.
This should never have happened.
The good news is they’re safe now. Warm, fed and loved. They’ll never know the life they were denied because, from today, they only know kindness.
A huge thank you goes to Toby and the wonderful nurses at Heathside Veterinary Surgery, who saw them immediately as an emergency and have already started the treatment they desperately needed.
Now comes the difficult part.
These two will need weeks of medication, specialist ophthalmology input, and eventually major surgery. We had promised ourselves we wouldn’t take on another large veterinary case until our funds recovered…
…but some kittens don’t have the luxury of waiting.
If you can spare the price of a coffee, it really will make a difference. Every pound brings Billie and Obi one step closer to a future where blindness won’t define them—it will simply be part of who they are.
❤️ Please help us give them the life they deserve.
As always, if you can’t donate, sharing their story is every bit as valuable.
Welcome to The Cat Welfare Group, little ones. We promise you’ve already had your worst days. The rest of your story is going to be so much brighter
