St Philip’s Church are organising and promoting this cause to raise money for a replacement defibrillator for our local community.
We have had a defibrillator at St Philip's Community Centre, Birchencliffe, since 2015 and we are now fundraising to replace it with a new machine. The community centre is used by many different groups and by people of all ages. Since October 2022, the defibrillator has been taken out 6 times and plays a part in the community. Our defibrillator can be used to help save the lives of both children and adults alike.
Statistics show that less than 1 in 10 people in the UK survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Having a public access defibrillator available in an emergency can be lifesaving.
By installing a community defibrillator on the outside wall of St Philip's Community Centre and by training people how to use it and how to perform CPR, we want to try and change those odds.
Can you help us and support this community cause? Any donation however small would be very gratefully received.
