A message from Dora:

For my Birthday I am raising again money to contribute to the welfare and health of the Amicii shelter dogs🙏. For deworming and deflea treatment and vaccination of the dogs with polyvalent and rabies. Along this 26 years of dog rescuing in Romania I have contributed to the salvation and a better life for thousands of street dogs. Hundreds were adopted mostly in the UK along the last 12 years of collaboration with the generous and devoted UK partnership. Still in the shelter here in Romania there are always about hundreds of dogs who we desperately try to offer the most decent life we can afford in the given circumstances.

We fight to provide the daily proper food for all the categories of dogs we have in care from very senior ones to the youngest puppies. But even if food is just the very basic need of the dogs, sadly there are some bad period of times, hard times when even to provide this it seems an impossible mission and we live on the knife s edge each single day😭. In these difficult given circumstances to provide the necessary deworming and deflea and the annual vaccinations are considered luxury which we can't really afford to do how the veterinary health and law is recommending and it is even requiring.

The deworming and deflea treatment is protecting dogs from dangerous diseases they can contact if we are walking them around the shelter where flock of sheep are herding and the long grass is facilitating the contamination with especially ticks which can cause for example babesiosis which could be lethal if not noticed and treated in time. Also rabies is still compulsory by law and polyvalent is a vital protection against for example leptospirosis which sadly we did have even if sporadically in the shelter, but we did and also distemper which would be a total disaster for the shelter.

Therefore to protect and help the shelter dogs health conditions I have set up a goal to raise money for at least 50 dogs, but of course if I only could more that would be like a "promise of Eden" for me🙏🙏, so they could be revaccinated and dewormed and have deflea treatment. The average cost per doggy is 150 lei, of course it depends on their size, but with 7500 lei/ 1500 Euro I am hoping to be able to reach my goal to help at least 50 doggies of our shelter 🙏 Please dear supporter and followers who never let us alone, stay with me to be able to fulfill my Birthday wish and do something really beneficial for our Amicii shelter dogs health 🙏🙏
