Bishopstone does not have ready access to a defibrillator.
If anyone in the settlement has a heart attack and needs resuscitation the nearest defibrillator is at Bishopstone Station platform. This is more than 500 metres away. It is too far when time is of the essence to save a life.
There are no public buildings in Bishopstone that can be used to provide the necessary power. The only option is a free standing solar powered unit.
Seaford Rotary has been in discussion with East Sussex Highways and Seaford Town Council. Permission has been granted to install a unit of this type in the road island in St Andrews Drive, in the centre of the community.
