Story

You Make the Difference

Running a half marathon doesn't just happen, it takes months of preparation, going out in all weathers through mud or ice with the wind freezing your face when you could be wrapped up warm on the sofa with a mug of hot chocolate...Thank you to every one of our runners and those supporting them. You are all appreciated*

Donating to our amazing runners will enable the East of England Ambulance Charity to support our volunteers, staff, and local communities in ways above and beyond that which NHS funding can ordinarily provide such as

• Helping to fund volunteer community first responders enhanced training, public awareness training through the EEAST Heart scheme and additional medical support equipment for the volunteers including more kit bags, specialised NMA phones and additional volunteer uniform.

• Funding wellbeing gardens, enriching outdoor spaces and enhancing break out rooms to provide staff and volunteers with an area for reflection and relaxation after challenging calls.

• Supporting welfare wagons which operate across our region to assist crews’ welfare during times of increased operational pressure alongside new initiatives such as the Unmet Needs project to support those in the community struggling to support themselves.

• Recruiting more volunteers through awareness days and at events which in turn will help provide more cover for 999 medical emergency calls within your area.

• Providing realistic training aids to prepare the professional volunteers for real life-scenarios, our volunteers are given as much information as the person who calls 999 can provide, but they never really know what emergency situation they are walking into until they are on scene. Practicing for lots of different scenarios helps make our amazing volunteers the professional community responder volunteers that support your areas today.

Could you help and join the team of fundraisers? Take on the Blickling Half Marathon today and really make a difference.🏃🏾‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏿‍♂️
