Story
The 700,000 children and young people in London living in poverty are growing up in a perfect storm, facing an inactivity pandemic and a mental health crisis.
Our mission is to tackle health and social inequalities through the power of football, which, as the most popular sport on earth, is a powerful way to reach young people, and an effective antidote to these challenges.
By running the Royal Parks Half Marathon with us or donating, you are helping to transform thousands of young lives. Established in 2018, Bloomsbury Football Foundation has grown from supporting a handful of children at one session, to over 7,000 young people every week, with inclusive provision for girls, young refugees and asylum seekers, young people with disabilities and blind and visually impaired young people
Bloomsbury Football Foundation’s programmes develop participants’ physical health, mental wellbeing and soft skills. Sessions are tailored specifically for London’s most vulnerable young people and are making a real difference to their lives.
Sir Keir Starmer
To better understand the transformative impact we are having, we capture the stories of some of our players.
Access to football across London has become prohibitively expensive. It means many young people miss out on the transformative power of the beautiful game.
Our mission is to change that.
Alexia joined our Football Academy four years ago. Being part of the Bloomsbury community has enabled her to make lasting friendships, build confidence, resilience and leadership, and pass on those skills to others through her coach.
Like thousands of young Londoners, our financial support model has enabled Alexia to access the magic of football.
We’re proud to share Alexia’s story here.

Stories like Alexia's show just how import it is to ensure every young person has access to sport, and the potential football has to transform young lives.
We are truly grateful for your support - thank you.
