Story
Our local charities are desperate for funds as they have seen all of their usual fund raising revenues cancelled. This year we are going Virtual! The same format as last year only you choose where and when you cycle. The same categories exist, the Twenty is Plenty 20km (12miles) ride, The Bolly Bash 75km (46miles) ride, or the Grimshaw Grueller 116km (72miles) ride. Remember you can cycle anywhere you want to in any part of the UK or you can choose to cycle the legendary routes from previous years. What is important is the distance cycled and taking part in the fund raising. If you want to split your cycle over two days that's fine, just submit two proof forms on our website.
Cycle clubs and serious cyclists we will record and report all results in a league table with the greater elevation being a contributing factor in the postions.
Electric Bikes are absolutely fine all we ask is that on the proof of cycle ride, submission form you tick the e-bike box so we can list the results fairly.
How to enter: Donate first here on the Macclesfield Lions Just Giving Page, a minimum of £10 per entry. Please note that you will need your donation reference to register for the Virtual Bollington Bikefest. Pick your distance, register and we will email automatically to confirm your entry and donation (check your spam folder).
Over the weekend of the 12th to 13th September, cycle your chosen distance and make sure you record it on Strava/Fitbit/Garmin or a smartwatch or other device. Submit the link or a photo of your watch or smartphone, as proof after your cycle ride. You will be immediately entered into the prize draw for some great gifts and a medal will be sent out to you with special offers from our sponsors.
