Story
Each day in Australia, 18 women are diagnosed with gynaecological cancer and five women die from the disease.
The Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer Research (QCGC Research) at UQ was established in 2003 to research and develop the best standard of care for women experiencing gynaecological cancer.
Research gives hope to women with cancer. No one understands this more than Brisbane artist, Jane Grealy, who was treated for cancer a few years ago. Jane's gynaecological oncologist, Professor Andreas Obermair, is also the Director of Research at QCGC Research. His passion for research and determination to find kinder and more effective treatments for women, inspired Jane to help raise much-needed funds for causes like women's cancer research by organising Bolted, an alternative Melbourne Cup event.
Thank you for sharing Jane's resolve to make a positive difference in changing womens lives. Your donation will help find a brighter future for all women with gynaecological cancer.
