Story

Dream Renewables is a practical renewable energy course for young adults in the Volta Region of Ghana. During the 2019 course, student Bright Mensah designed a solar PV system for the school he had attended, Bomigo Basic School. Bright voluntarily produced a proposal for the project, which would enable Bomigo Basic School to hold after class activities as well as powering a small computer lab. The school currently has no access to electricity. Returning as a volunteer for Dream Renewables in 2020, Bright's dream to use his skills to enhance the learning experience at his basic school is now becoming a reality as we are fundraising for this solar PV system. The system will include a 1.5kWh Solar array, as well as a 9kWh lead-acid battery which will ensure the school can use electricity for up to two days when the sun is not shinning. We have partnered with Suka, a wind and solar engineering firm based in Accra, who will provide technical support on the design of the system. Please help us on our way to our target of providing Bomigo Basic School with electricity!
