⚓ Boost a Recruit: Supporting HMS Raleigh Recruits Through Training
Every year, young men and women arrive at HMS Raleigh to begin one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys of their lives. They come from all corners of the UK and Commonwealth, leaving behind family, friends and the familiarity of home to pursue a career in service.
Initial training is demanding, both physically and mentally. Recruits are pushed outside their comfort zones, required to learn new skills, adapt to military life and work as part of a team, often while managing the pressures of being away from home for the first time.
Whilst HMS Raleigh provides excellent training and support, there is still tremendous value in the little things that help lift morale, especially when many recruits have gone home and only a handful being left over leave periods.
That's where you can help.
Through this campaign, we are seeking donations to provide simple welfare and wellbeing activities for recruits left behind. Your contribution could help fund:
🍕 A pizza night
🎬 Cinema tickets for a well-earned break
☕ Refreshments and social activities that bring remaining recruits together
🤝 Opportunities to strengthen camaraderie, resilience and wellbeing
These may seem like small gestures, but they can make a huge difference to a recruit's experience. A shared meal, a trip to the cinema, or simply knowing that someone cares enough to support them can provide a valuable boost during what could otherwise be a lonely time.
Every pound donated will go towards supporting recruits and helping create positive memories during the early stages of their naval journey.
Whatever you feel able to contribute, your support will have a direct and meaningful impact.
Together, we can show our future sailors that they are valued, supported and appreciated.
Thank you for helping us Boost a Recruit.
