Story
Boots & Beards began in 2016 as a small hillwalking group for close friends and family, exploring Scotland’s hills and finding peace, wellbeing, and friendship along the way. What started as a handful of walkers has grown into a registered charity engaging hundreds of people each year across a range of outdoor and indoor wellbeing programmes.
This year, 5 of us are taking on our biggest adventure yet — walking the full 96-mile West Highland Way in 7 days. We’re doing it to raise funds to support our different programmes and inspire more people from diverse backgrounds to discover Scotland’s great outdoors.
Here’s how you can help:
We’re asking supporters to sponsor us a minimum of £5 per mile — that’s just £1 per walker for every mile completed.
Together, we’ll cover 96 miles and hope to raise at least £480 to keep our work moving forward.
Your donation goes directly towards creating inclusive opportunities for people who might otherwise never experience the outdoors — helping us provide equipment, training, and safe, welcoming spaces for families, women, young people, and ethnic minority groups.
Join us on this journey, mile by mile, and be part of something bigger. Together we can show that the outdoors is for everyone!
