EVENT CANCELLED 😞
Due to ongoing inclement weather conditions, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Bourne Town Fireworks event that was due to take place on Saturday 4th November.
The persistent and heavy rain that we had experienced, along with the forecast for continued adverse weather, had left our car park unsuitable for use. Unfortunately, the venue is not accessible on foot, which left us with no choice but to cancel the event in the interest of safety and accessibility.
Refunds have been issued for those who had purchased tickets for the event.
Please understand that the decision to cancel the event was made with the safety and well-being of our attendees in mind, and we are deeply saddened that this community event will now not take place this year.
However, we also want to share with you the significant financial impact this cancellation has had on the charities we support. After discussions with our sponsors and suppliers, the calculated loss due to the cancellation of this charity event is in the region of £6,000. We would like to point out that the estimated loss at the start was in excess of £10,000 so we would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our fireworks provider, Illuminatus Pyrotechnics and our sponsors, for providing either significant discounts on the monies owed or confirming that they will honour their pledges etc
If you are in a position to help contribute to the costs incurred by the charities, we would greatly appreciate any donations, big or small, of your ticket money to support our charities. Your generosity will go a long way in helping us continue our charity work and future events.
