Hello
We are launching this online/social media campaign that helps raise awareness of throat cancers; by allowing people to post pictures of their pet cats and/or dogs wearing bow ties!
Why?
Well, firstly it’s important that we continue to keep in people’s thoughts the issues and impact of throat cancers. Secondly, who doesn’t love a cat or dog in a bow tie?
Well, what’s the connection?
At the Throat Cancer Foundation, our brand and logo all incorporate a bow tie. This highlights the area of the body most affected by these cancers, the throat.
Okay, so what do we want you want you to do?
We are looking for people to post on their own timelines, on their social media (all the platforms they have), pictures of their beloved cats or dogs or both if the have them, resplendent in their dapper bow ties (but they can wear more if they want, as long as the bow tie is there).
We would also ask them to tag us, the Throat Cancer Foundation in those postings too, so our followers can see these wonderful animals doing their bit for support.
You can also set up your own fundraising page from this page. (Click the orange 'Start Fundraising' button on this page and follow the instructions).
We would also like to see people post the following message, with a link to this JustGiving page, which would encourage some donations.
The campaign’s hashtag would have a slight play on words #BowWowTie. & #MeowToo. Yes, you get the picture.
What is the message going to be?
(Pet’s Name(s)) is proudly showing support for those affected by throat cancer.
Some people battling throat cancer have lost their voices—they can’t even tell me I’m a good boy (or girl). And that makes us sad. But we won’t stay sad—we’ll take action!
To bring hope and raise awareness, I’m wearing this bow tie in support of all the patients, loved ones, and the incredible work of the Throat Cancer Foundation.
Now, please tell me I’m a good boy (or girl)! And if you can, consider making a donation here: [insert donation link].
A huge thank you and lots of love,
(Pet’s Name(s))
