Update (31/07/2026)

Sadly, we have some heartbreaking news to share… our beautiful little Boogie has passed away. 🌈

Despite all the love, care and incredible efforts to help him, Boogie began struggling to breathe and his tiny body was simply unable to keep fighting. We believe his little lungs were too big for his tiny chest, and in the end, he was just too fragile.

Boogie was only with us for a short time, but he touched so many hearts.

He was a little fighter who deserved every chance, and because of your kindness, he was given that chance. 💙

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared his story, sent messages and loved this special little boy. Without your support, we couldn’t have given Boogie the care and opportunity he so deserved.

He was truly too good for this world. 🌈🐾

If you have been following little Boogie and Arlene’s journey over the last few weeks on our Borders Pet Rescue channels, we have been watching these tiny kittens grow and sharing in their special moments.

We now have an update on our little man… and it’s not quite the news we hoped for.🥺

Boogie has been diagnosed with Swimmer Syndrome. His little legs don’t sit underneath him as they should, making it difficult for him to stand and move around like other kittens.

But Boogie is a fighter. 💙

He keeps trying, he keeps wriggling, and he shows us every day that he wants to be here.

Sadly, because Boogie’s chest is also very flat, there are some unknowns about his future and how his little body will cope as he grows. We don’t know exactly what lies ahead, but we do know one thing…

Boogie deserves every chance.🥹

With specialist veterinary care, physiotherapy, monitoring and lots of love, we want to give him the very best opportunity to grow into a happy, healthy cat.

We’ve started our Help Boogie Find His Feet fundraiser to help towards the cost of the care and treatment he needs on his journey.🐾🏡

We know times are difficult for many people as they are for our small, local charity, so any support you can offer means the absolute world to us. 🌎

UPDATE (27/07/2026)

Our little Boogie has had a very difficult few days.❤️‍🩹

On Saturday, he began struggling to breathe and was rushed to the vets, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He was immediately placed into an oxygen incubator and started on antibiotics. It was a frightening time, and all we could do was hope he would keep fighting.

We’re so relieved to say that Boogie made it through the weekend and is doing a little better. He isn’t out of the woods yet, and there is still a long road ahead, but we’re giving this tiny boy every chance we can.

Boogie has now been fitted with a special corset to help support his little body as he continues his journey. Despite everything he’s faced in his few short weeks of life, he continues to show us what a true little fighter he is. His strength, determination and will to keep going are nothing short of incredible.🥹
