Story
BREMF@home was born during a pandemic; a time of turmoil and tragedy that has seen live music-making silenced. As the first tentative steps towards performing live are taken, it is still hard to imagine performing in packed venues. Meanwhile, adaptation and innovation have been key to survival now, and are opening new and exciting possibilities in an uncertain future.
Nothing can replace the thrill of live performance, but our series of 10 individually devised programmes, merging performance with film, images, animation and presentation, offers something different that can also reach across the earth.
BREMF is one of the country's best early music festivals with thoughtful, innovative programming
We have taken the decision not to restrict viewing of our events with a paywall as we want to enable more people to sample our programmes, but we are encouraging audiences to donate in order to help us cover the costs of making these films which have incurred substantial costs in the form of artist fees, filming costs and lighting and support services. We are pleased to have been able to provide employment for all the talented professionals in our sector who have contributed to these films, but if we are not able to recoup the costs, we will not be in a position to continue as an organisation into 2021.
You are unlikely to hear this music anywhere else.
Thank you for any support you are able to give.
