The Bridge 8 Algarve Bike Challenge will be undertaken by 15 Edinburgh youths, who will take on the tough 214 km trail cycle across Ecovia do Litora in just 4 days. All efforts are in support of the fantastic work of Bikes for Refugees (Scotland).
It connects Cabo de São Vincente, on the Atlantic Ocean, to Villa The tough 214 km trail runs in the Algarve region, South Portugal. It connects Cabo de São Vincente, on the Atlantic Ocean, to Villa Real de Santo Antonio, on the Spanish border. Along its course (or with short diversions) you will see the main landmarks of the Algarve, as for example Ponta da Piedade, Ria Formosa Natural Park, and many others. The trail covers all types of terrain from costal path, single track, boardwalks, open rural roads and amazing forest trails.
The youths have a real touch physical and emotional challenge ahead of them, which Sean from Bridge 8 hopes in some small way represent the challenges that are faced by those going through resettlement of isolated and socio-economically disadvantaged New Scots (refugees/asylum seekers).
At the core of this event is to raises funds for Bikes for Refuges (Scotland) who do incredible work that strikes a common chord with Bridge 8 Hub.
The Team can't wait to cycle hard and raise funds in support of a fantastic project!
