This Christmas, Help Keep Families Together

Campaign by SIG Penrose

Help mothers facing homelessness stay with their children. This Christmas, we're raising £1,000 to give marginalised families in Luton a safe home and the specialist support they need to rebuild together.

Closes 31/12/2025

Our mission is to empower independence through trauma-informed solutions and dynamic partnerships that keep people out of prison, out of hospital, and off the streets.

Story

When Sarah* arrived, she was facing unimaginable challenges. She had lost custody of her five-year-old daughter due to domestic abuse and housing instability. Social services allowed her only three hours of supervised contact each week.

At Bridge House, the only specialist accommodation service in Luton for mothers with young children, Sarah found a safe and stable home, along with the support she needed to rebuild her confidence as a parent.

Slowly, her time with her daughter grew, from supervised visits to overnight stays, and then weekends. Just twelve months later, her daughter is back where she belongs, living with Sarah. Without Bridge House, Sarah would have spent last Christmas apart from her daughter. Now, they’ll see in the new year together, safe, united, and full of hope.

This Christmas, we’re raising £1,000 to give more families a home.

For many single mums facing homelessness, and the threat of family separation, we are their last hope, the only support service standing between them and losing their children to care.

Our core funding bridges the gap between crisis and stability by providing vital temporary accommodation and specialist support, enabling mothers to rebuild their lives and keep families together.

Your gift this Christmas can give mothers the support they need:

• £10 could support materials for creative family sessions, where mothers bond with their children in a supportive group.

• £25 could support qualified childcare, allowing mothers to attend trauma therapy and support, focused on their own needs.

• £50 could support a festive trip, creating joyful memories for a family that has known little but crisis.

• £100 could support specialist parenting sessions, putting a mother firmly on the path to regaining custody.

Every pound raised, up to and beyond our £1000 target, will go to SIG Penrose Bridge House for materials and sessions to support families receiving support there.

What Bridge House means to mothers living here
