General fundraising

The purpose of the Sea Cadet Corps is to promote the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual and social potential as individuals and as responsible citizens by the provision of education and leisure time activities.

The Sea Cadet Corps equip young people aged 10 to 18 with life skills to face our ever-changing world and to ease their transition into the workplace later in life. Our approach and methods are based on Naval traditions and procedures, with the emphasis heavily steered toward seamanship, sailing, and other water-based activities.

Story

At the Bridge of Don Sea Cadets we provide a structured environment twice weekly to our cadets, aged 9 to 18. We have a dedicated team who provide a variety of activities. For example, during the summer months cadets develop their offshore skills such as rowing, sailing and powerboat. This enables them to gain and develop skills and grow in confidence. Ultimately the aim is to give the cadets an opportunity to compete in competitions at area, district and national levels. Over the years our cadets have competed competitions and have been quite successful.
