Organised by Sightsavers IrelandBright for Sight is Sightsavers' annual fundraising campaign based on a very simple idea. Wear something yellow to work on June 21st, make a small donation, and help restore the sight of those who are needlessly blind from cataract.

Visit the charity's profileImagine losing your sight, bit by bit, and with it your ability to go to school, to earn a living, to do the things you enjoy, or to look after yourself and your family. Imagine how terrifying or dangerous it would be to do simple things like cross the road. There are 36 million people in the world who are blind, and 90% of blindness occurs in developing countries, but 75% of all blindness could be prevented or cured. Shocked at how unfair this is? So are we.
This summer, you can help us restore the sight of people who are needlessly blind in some of the poorest countries in the world by supporting Bright for Sight! Just 4 can provide a lens for a cataract operation while only 32 can provide a sight-restoring cataract operation.
