Briony and Cathy are running the London Marathon this April.

This will be Cathy's 13th Marathon raising money for our wonderful charity. She is a total inspiration to us and Nightingale Hammerson would be lost without her.

Briony is running the Marathon for the first time in honour of her mum, Wendi, who lost her battle with cancer 19 years ago. ''I miss her every day and the loss is profound - my boys have missed out on a Nana who was an angel in human form'' she says. Wendi lived her life in service to others, working as a social worker for elderly refugees, fighting for justice and bringing joy to their lives with her professionalism, warmth and sunshine. Working for Nightingale Hammerson brings Briony closer to her mum, regardless of her absence.

Both runners are participating in tribute to the outstanding Staff, Volunteers and Trustees at Nightingale Hammerson who show up each day with a smile on their face and compassion in their hearts. This run is for all those who dedicate their time and invaluable expertise to making our Residents’ lives as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They all work tirelessly to bring meaning and joy to the lives of our older Residents.
