Bristol Adventure Sea Cadets Rowathon 2024

Our cadets and volunteers will be taking part in a sponsored ‘rowathon’ both on rowing machines at the unit and rowing out on the water in Bristol Harbour to raise money for the unit, supporting our summer camp and maintenance work on our building.

We aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through nautical activities and adventures, we learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of ourselves.

Story

Our cadets and volunteers will be taking part in a sponsored ‘rowathon’ both on rowing machines at the unit and rowing out on the water in Bristol Harbour. Our aim is to row a total of 250 miles, inspired by 2024 also being the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook's Second Voyage of discovery, which HMS Adventure - our namesake - took part in.

The money we raise will be split evenly between supporting the cadet’s summer camp in Cornwall later this year and contributing towards essential works to maintain the unit building and facilities.

Any support would be hugely appreciated and will mean that our Sea Cadet unit can keep on offering a whole world of activities to children and teenagers from all kinds of backgrounds across Bristol and the surrounding area, giving them a great head start in life.
