Carry on the Kindness

Keep Bristol's most vulnerable animals warm this winter by supporting our appeal. During the colder months, our heating bills rise to roughly £180 a day to keep our dogs, cats and smallies warm and cosy. Please help us care for them this winter.

Bristol A.R.C. is Bristol's oldest animal charity, we've been helping, healing & homing animals in need since 1887. Bristol Animal Rescue Centre is the working name for two linked charities – RSPCA Bristol & District Branch (RCN: 205858) and Bristol Dogs and Cats Home (RCN: 205858-1)

Story

Help us to keep our dogs, cats, and smallies cosy this winter.

In December 1887 our founder Edward T Parker found a lost puppy alone and cold during a bitter Bristol snowstorm. He decided to help that little puppy get the food and shelter it needed, and 133 years later here we are! Edward T Parker's simple act of kindness has helped change the lives of thousands of animals in the Bristol area ever since. Will you help us carry on Edward's kindness this winter?

During the chilly winter months, heating bills rise, and on an average winters day, the energy bill for our animal rescues is over £180. This includes heating our dog kennels, multiple cat cabins, small animal pods, and our special care unit where we look after animals who need specialist veterinary attention.

It is so important for our animals to feel warm, cosy and safe, especially throughout the winter months. Having a settled night and enough rest helps them to cope with not being in a home of their own, and allows them to learn and adjust to their environment faster. Heating is an essential part of this, and being able to ensure it's on when needed, makes for happy animals! - Jodie Hayward, Animal Home Manager

We're aiming to raise at least £6,000 through our Carry on the Kindness appeal to help cover our increased costs as the temperature drops. We know this year has been tough on everyone, and we hugely appreciate any contribution you can make to help keep our furries warm and cosy this winter. Thank you in advance for helping this vital work continue.
