Story

In the period between June and November 1942, over 50,000 Jews were murdered at Bronna Góra, a mass killing site set in a secluded area along a railroad track.

There was no mercy; men, women and children were shot and murdered. Most were Jews. They were brought from Brest, Prinsk, Kobryn and other surrounding areas to be shot and killed by the Nazis and Nazi collaborators.

Now, in the present day there are two memorials to commemorate the deaths. One was erected in the Soviet period and there is a second more contemporary memorial that was installed post 1991.

Currently these memorials stand unmarked and difficult to find. That's where this campaign comes in. The Together Plan is raising funds to erect 7 road signs in total to direct visitors to the memorial and provide explanation once they have arrived.

2 of the road signs will be installed on the main highway (M1) in each direction, 4 will be erected on crossroads leading to the memorial and one info sign will be built to provide contextual description of the memorial itself.

The Together Plan is a UK charity dedicated to the rehabilitation, repair and revival of Jewish communities coming out of collective trauma in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, enabling, rather than providing, through a self-help approach. In spite of the traumatic past, there are many who yearn to reconnect with their lost identity. It is the mission of The Together Plan charity, to help those Jews still living in the region learn how to rebuild their communities, and also to reconnect those in the diaspora to their ancestry and the homes they left behind. The Together Plan is playing a vital and much needed role in the repair and renewal process for a better connected and meaningful Jewish future for Jews everywhere. We send humanitarian aid and resources that reach Jewish and non-Jewish communities throughout Belarus and our community work helps to bring Jewish and non-Jewish people together for a better civil society.
