Story
This Autumn we have all seen the Taliban takeover of the Afghanistan capital, Kabul, and subsequent control over wider parts of Afghanistan. Thousands of Afghan families are faced every day with poverty, injury and even death. The country has also been severely affected by drought and Coronavirus, leaving vulnerable women and children in particular with limited healthcare and food to survive.
Father Hudson's Care is responding through our project Brushstrokes. We are working in partnership with Sandwell Borough Council to take part in the UK government-led resettlement scheme, providing support and advice for up to 25 families to start a new life in Sandwell. In addition, we are supporting over 60 Afghan refugees in a temporary hotel in Sandwell. Brushstrokes has appointed two Refugee Support Workers and a Project Co-ordinator to provide the support that is needed.
