We are excited to launch a fundraising campaign to raise $2,500 for the Baltimore School for the Arts Photography Program. This campaign will help cover essential equipment, supplies, and chemicals for the 2025-2026 school year that are crucial for our student photographers.
The Photography Program, led by award-wining photojournalist Joe Giordano, is cross-disciplinary with classes in visual arts, film & visual storytelling and stage design & production. Through hands-on instruction, students progress from developing black-and-white film in their sophomore year to working with 4x5 large format cameras and color film in their senior year.
Along the way, they have the opportunity to attend a photojournalist's lecture at The Press Club in Washington D.C., take masterclasses with renowned local photographers like Devin Allen and E. Brady Robinson, and visit key cultural institutions, including the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Walters Art Gallery.
Our students actively engage with the local community, exhibiting their work in neighborhoods like Station North and Hampden and partnering with galleries such as Gallery Blue Door and Evergreen Museum & Library of JHU. They also contribute to local publications including Baltimore Brew and Baltimore Fishbowl.
We hope you will consider a gift to the BSA Photography program. Anyone who gives $100 or more will receive a BSA Alumni T-Shirt ($15 value). A member from the Foundations team will follow-up to collect sizing information. T-shirts are available in unisex sizes Small - 4XL.
Your generous donation will directly support the next generation of photographers, helping them access the resources they need to learn, grow, and share their vision with the world. If you have any questions, please contact Meredith Rosenblatt at mrosenblatt@bsfa.org. Thank you for supporting our photography students and the arts in Baltimore!
