BUDS is committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of the underprivileged in our community. This year, we have embarked on several transformative projects, and we need your unwavering support to make them a reality.
1. Low-Cost Housing Project:
Our mission is to provide affordable housing to individuals and families in need, offering them a secure and dignified place to call home. With your support, we can work towards building a brighter future for those who are currently struggling for shelter.
2. Foster Care (AEDU):
Our foster care program serves as a beacon of hope for children in need. Our aim is to expand this initiative, providing more children with the opportunity for a brighter future through education and comprehensive care.
Aim: Expanding the programme by increasing the number of beneficiaries to 25 and Increasing monthly support to SL. Rs. 5000 per beneficiary
3. Reinstating the Hindu College Project:
In response to the request from BUDS-BT, we are delighted to announce the reinstatement of the Hindu College Project. This impactful initiative aims to empower deserving students by providing them with access to higher education, thereby opening doors to a brighter and more promising future.
4. Substance Use Prevention Program:
Substance abuse is a growing concern in our community, affecting thousands of lives. Recent statistics are alarming, with thousands of regular drug users in Sri Lanka. To combat this issue, we are raising awareness, providing support, and making a difference. Join us in our walk to support this crucial cause.
This year, our charity walk holds a special purpose - to raise funds for the Substance Use Prevention Program in Batticaloa and its surrounding areas. The drug epidemic is a pressing challenge, and together, we can make a difference by reducing demand through awareness and support.
5. Livelihood Project for Fishermen:
- We are currently exploring options to construct a dedicated building for the fishermen in the Paalameen area. This initiative is driven by the goal of enhancing the livelihoods of local fishermen and their families. With your support, we can create sustainable solutions that will greatly benefit this vital community.
6. Help for Elderly People:
As part of our holistic approach to community development, we are committed to providing initial assistance to elderly and homeless individuals. Our primary focus is to offer meals and instil hope in those who are most in need. By addressing immediate needs, we aim to lay the foundation for long-term support and empowerment.
