Recognised by TEDx, and the UN State of the World Population Report, our Burlesque Squad promote confidence, empowerment and appreciation of the body for what it does not what it looks like. Performing at local community events, and headlining our fundraising campaigns, the squad invite you to join them for 5 hours of Burlesque on Friday June 27th at the St Crispin Community Centre from 4.30-9.30pm.
You will learn 5 dances over 6 hours, the first hour 4.30-5.30 is Family friendly, but from 5.30 it's over 18's only - it's a female friendsly space, but men are welcome to dance.
No previous experience needed - but let us know of any health restrictions on arrival, and come dressed for fitness. If staying for the 9pm dance - bring a teddy bear/soft toy!!
We suggest a donation of £20 if joining us for the full event, or £6 per hour - and your generosity goes into our grant fund which supports other grassroots groups promoting wellbeing through the arts.
(Or of course, please donate to support your squad dancer!!)
AND we have the fabulous Lews Foundation in attendance with their pop up cafe offering free cake and a drink!!!
