Story

Taking the Leap for Berkshire Vision: Supporting Children and Adults Like Hannah

On 29th June 2025, our brave team of fundraisers will be jumping from 10,000 feet in an adrenaline-fueled skydive to support Berkshire Vision—a charity that provides life-changing support to children and adults with sight loss across Berkshire.

Meet Hannah

Hannah was born with neurological blindness, meaning her eyes are healthy, but her brain doesn’t receive the signals to see. Despite this, she leads an incredibly active and independent life—volunteering at the British Heart Foundation, helping at a local Girl Guide unit, and staying active with yoga, swimming, and tandem cycling.

With Berkshire Vision's support, Hannah has been able to take part in incredible activities, including dragon boat racing, triathlons, and social groups that have helped her build confidence, make new friends, and challenge herself in ways she never thought possible.

How Your Donation Changes Lives

Your support doesn’t just fund services—it directly helps children and adults like Hannah live independently and pursue their passions.

• Building Confidence & Community – Your donation funds social activities like tandem cycling, dragon boat racing, and guided sports, giving visually impaired people the chance to take on new challenges and form lasting friendships.

• Independence Through Technology – With the right tools and training, people like Hannah can navigate daily life more easily, whether it’s using assistive technology to communicate or learning mobility skills to stay active.

• Emotional Wellbeing & Support – Sight loss can be isolating, but Berkshire Vision provides a lifeline through support groups and one-on-one guidance, ensuring no one has to face it alone.

Every pound you give makes a real, tangible difference, empowering children and adults with sight loss to thrive, not just cope.
