Last week our Church was broken into. Thieves stole equipment, musical instruments and even the cleaning, sanitary and food stock, as well as a very old bible that they possibly thought was worth a few bob but has belonged to the church for a very long time. They have caused damage to doors, locks and windows and just made a general mess everywhere turning out all the drawers and cupboards.
As if things are not tough enough right now for everyone during the Covid crisis, a time when we should be pulling together, there are sadly some desperate individuals that have stooped to this despicable level and robbed a church.
The church has been established for over 100 years and has a dedicated and supportive congregation, who donate regularly to pay for its upkeep and to help the local community from supporting the homeless, our local foodbank as well as fundraising for many national charities, such as Macmillan, Hope For Justice and many more, Without these kind, generous and loyal people there would be no Church and this break in has been very upsetting not only for us as Pastors but for the congregation.
Funds will be used to replace the stolen equipment, stock, repair the damage and install a new security system. Any surplus will be used to continue to support the local community, as we have for so many years and hope to continue for many more to come.
Thank you to everyone for your kindness
God Bless
