Story
A High Sheriff is appointed by Her Majesty at a meeting of the Privy Council, for one year. The Office of High Sheriff is over 1,000 years old and the key elements of the role are supporting those who administer law and order, and working with the local charity sector.
Jennifer Crompton is serving as High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire for 2022-2023. As High Sheriff, Jennifer will focus on supporting projects in Cambridgeshire which promote inclusion, foster community cohesion or improve access to opportunities, such as education, the arts and sports.
The High Sheriff's Fund was established in Cambridgeshire over 18 years ago to support this charitable work. It recognises achievement and awards grants to projects which benefit the community. This year we are aiming to raise at least £20,000 for the fund.
A huge thank you to all who have already donated. Any further support would be greatly appreciated and will make a real difference in Cambridgeshire.
