Story
The Cathedral's organ sits at the heart of our music, supporting all who sing here and inspiring all who journey here. This magnificent organ was beautifully restored by Harrison & Harrison in 2019/20, dramatically improving the instruments musicality and seeing it grow from one of the smallest Cathedral organs, to one of the largest in Europe.
It is now our job to maintain the restored organ, so that all may hear its glory. You can help us achieve this by donating today. Thank you.
Adopt a Stop!

Our hugely successful Adopt a Stop! scheme formed a major part of the Cathedral Organ Project fundraising campaign, with hundreds of kind donors 'adopting' a pipe or stop in the organ. We are delighted that the scheme will be continuing, enabling you to make a lasting link with the Cathedral, whilst supporting the maintenance of our beautiful instrument.
By supporting Adopt a Stop, you will ensure that the organ remains at the heart of our musical performances. We will honour your generosity with:
- A certificate signed by The Dean of Canterbury
- Recognition in a dedicated Book of Donors
- An invitation to an upcoming event at the Cathedral
For more information on how you can support our Adopt a Stop! scheme please visit our Adopt a Stop! page or email fundraising@canterbury-cathedral.org. Thank you.
Canterbury is now blessed with a musical instrument fit for its wonderful surroundings, and which will continue to serve the Cathedral for many years to come. - Dr David Newsholme, Director of Music
