Capella Edina' First Season as Edinburgh's Symphony Orchestra

Organised by Capella Edina

We need your support to give Edinburgh its own professional symphony orchestra, led by 20-year-old conductor Luis Schmidt. Your support will enable us to run educational workshops for children and share the joy of music.

Story

We need your support

Since 1937 the City of Edinburgh hasn't had a symphony orchestra. Capella Edina is there to change this and is planning to perform its inaugural season in 2025, but we need your support.

Making music more accessible

It's at the heart of our mission to unite people by music. Nothing else is as powerful as music in transforming people's lives and transcending social boundaries. We want to share our passion for music with an audience from the most diverse backgrounds while educating our listeners about this special art form, which is so integral to our cultural heritage and our cultural future.

We serve the community we're grounded in.

Educating young people

It's important to us to showcase the value of music especially to young people in schools and let them participate in music to actively contribute to our cultural heritage. For this reason, we're rolling out a vast programme of school workshops and educational activities as part of our 2025 season.
