There are over 333,000 children living in poverty in the geography covered by Caritas Salford’s services - almost every other child in a classroom in some areas. At the last count in September 2024, there were 496 people sleeping rough and 5,907 households in temporary accommodation, including 8,546 children (a six per cent rise in the previous quarter). And, there are thousands more at risk of losing their home, due to the financial difficulties they are experiencing.
