Story
Based in the city centre, Carrs Lane Counselling has been helping transform lives for nearly sixty years, offering a low-cost counselling service that’s available to everyone, supported by a team of dedicated volunteer counsellors. The fundraising campaign is part of a longer-term strategy to develop the service’s operations and secure another sixty years of bringing wellness, transformation and growth to people’s lives in the region.
John Horwood, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “The work done at Carrs Lane Counselling relies entirely on the generosity of our funders, donors, volunteers and members of the public, and every penny we raise goes towards helping people who need our support. We’re immensely grateful to the Lord Mayor as we launch our spring fundraising campaign, and we hope his actions will inspire others to help in whatever way they can.”
Sandra Fabowale, Centre Manager & Clinical Lead, said: “Running a low-cost counselling service means we’re able to reach the people who most need our support, but we can’t do it without our network of helpers and volunteers. As we continue to improve our facilities, shorten waiting times, and grow our counsellor volunteer base, the donations and financial contributions we receive become all-important – with our ‘Spring Into Hope’ campaign we’re seeking to not just to raise funds but also raise awareness of our work in the city.”
