Story

We are organising a Free Eye Camp in Zakiganj, Sylhet, Bangladesh in January 2022. According to a study, in Bangladesh cataract is probably responsible for over 60% of blindness. Many poor people located in villages are unable to have their eyes checked and cataract treatment done due to the cost of the procedure.

The Free Eye Camp in January 2022 will be held at the Shahid Jamshed Ali Islamic academy, South Hanigram, Brammongram Zakiganj, Sylhet (number 8 Koshkonokpur). The process at this Free Eye Camp shall be as follows:

- Eye checks for all patients

- Every person that requires reading glasses will be prescribed glasses

- Those who require medication will be prescribed

- Those who require cataracts will be transported to Hospital

- They will have cataract done

- They will stay in hospital premises being monitored for 24 hours

- Food will be provided to needy patients, including dinner on clinic day/admission to hospital and breakfast day after for those having cataracts done

- Return to location of origin via coach (eye clinic location)

- All those who have cataracts done will be given sunglasses

- After 1-week doctor will return to assess the cataract patients eyes
