Our cattery has a fantastic amount of space with indoor areas and lovely large runs, and our team and volunteers will always spend as much time as possible with the cats while they are with us.

What we are lacking is a varied environment with places to hide away should they wish to, and enrichment activities for the cats to engage with.

We know that coming into the cattery as part of their journey to a new loving home can be a stressful time for any cat. By improving their environment, we can help the cats remain happy, healthy, and fulfilled. Which in turn will make it easier for them to find a new home and free up the space for another cat in need to come into.

Providing a private place to hide is proven to help cats feel safe, secure, and confident in their surroundings.

Enrichment is also crucial as it stimulates natural instincts and promotes well-being. Cats are naturally curious and active animals, and without adequate mental and physical stimulation, they can become bored and potentially stressed.

Enrichment activities, such as climbing structures, help keep the cats engaged and mentally alert, whilst also encouraging physical activity.

With the funds we would purchase a variety of wall furniture for inside the pens, beds that provide hiding spaces as well as high spots for the cats to survey the world from, and outdoor furniture to giveopportunities to play, climb, scratch or hide away.
