The Christmas Jumper Challenge – Wear it for Hope
The festive season is a time for togetherness, laughter and joy- but for many children and young people facing the death or terminal illness of a loved one Christmas can be one of the hardest times of the year.
That’s why this December we’re asking you to join us for our annual Christmas Jumper Challenge to raise vital funds for the Children’s Bereavement Centre.
It couldn’t be simpler:
*Gather your friends, family, work colleagues, schoolmates or community group together.
*Don your brightest, funniest or most outrageous festive jumper on Friday the 12th of December (or another date in December if that works better for you).
*Make a donation to help us bring comfort and support to local children who are grieving.
And if you want to turn up the Christmas cheer why not make it a real festive affair? Host a fuddle at the office, bake up some mince pies for a charity cake sale- or even run a silly jumper competition of your own. However you celebrate don’t forget to send us your best festive photos—we’ll be crowning the 2025 Most Christmassy Photo winner!
But underneath all the glitter and jumpers is something deeply meaningful. Every pound you raise will go directly towards helping children and young people who are struggling with loss:
£10 will pay for a teddy bear called Hope, given to each child when they attend their first session with us.
£25 will pay for one hour of bereavement or art therapy, giving a young person the space to talk, create, and begin to heal.
At the Children’s Bereavement Centre our vision is that no child has to face the death or terminal illness of a loved one alone. With your help, we can make that vision a reality- even at Christmas when the absence of a loved one can feel especially difficult.
And remember if you tick the Gift Aid box your donation can be boosted by 25% at no extra cost to you.
So pull on your Christmas jumper with pride this December. Together we can raise smiles, spread joy and bring hope to children who need it most.
Because sometimes the silliest jumper can help make the biggest difference.
