Catalyst Care Group's Clinician Care Team will be facing their fears as their fundraising event on:
Date: Friday 28th July 2023,
Venue: The Ancient Ram Inn, Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire
April Cowley (Head of Clinician Centricity and Coach), Jurijus Koncakivskij (Clinician Experience Onboarding Specialist), Rugare Simbi (Field Care Coach), Vickey Norey (Field Care Coach), and Ashlee Higton (Field Care Coach) will be raising funds by staying overnight in 'England's most Haunted House' for a night of terror to support Catalyst Foundation's S.H.E. Programme. In particular, for their upcoming S.H.E. Camp which will see all beneficiaries from Zimbabwe and Zambia meet for the very first time which is super exciting!
Given the title of the 'Most Haunted' building in England, it comes as no surprise that the ancient Ram Inn is a paranormal hotspot. Built-in 1145, the Inn has had many sinister happenings take place in it, such as suicide, rituals, child sacrifices, home to slaves, and a hideout for criminals, to name but a few.
Before the construction of the Inn, the site was a pagan burial ground that lay on ley lines, which trace all the way back to the mysterious Stonehenge.
Many guests have reported unexplainable experiences whilst visiting the Ram, with many visitors unable to stay the full night. The question is, will the Clinician Care Team be able to?
Catalyst Foundation is part of the Catalyst Care Group house of brands and is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Registered Charity Number: 1193385).
Its S.H.E Programme focuses on empowering girl-child education across Africa, by removing the barriers that vulnerable girls in particular face when accessing education.
Across Africa, 32.6 million primary and lower secondary school girls are out of school. This number rises to 52 million when looking at girls of upper secondary school age.
As a result of not going to school, girls may become victims of: - child abuse, child rape, early child marriages/pregnancies, HIV/AIDS, and the list goes on. This is where the Catalyst Foundation comes in and tries to bridge this gap, as they believe every girl-child has the right to an education!
Every year, Catalyst Foundation holds its S.H.E Camp either during the August/December school holidays, which is always looked forward to by their beneficiaries tremendously.
The aim of holding these Camps is to encourage, educate, and empower all beneficiaries, through various activities such as mentorship, teamwork, creativity, and reimagining possibilities.
So far, two Camps have been held, and the impact created throughout has been amazing – they see their girls arriving at Camp really shy, and by the time the Camp has concluded, they will have all transformed into confident, young girls – full of fire and ready to take this energy back to school for the start of the new term.
The S.H.E. Camp's programme assists all beneficiaries in the following areas:
- With mental stimulation and physical activity. To find camaraderie in peers going through similar struggles.
- Reinforce independence and empowerment through the tailored Camp programme.
- Allow confidence to be reinforced by success, as the Foundation will award deserving beneficiaries prizes and medals.
- Promoting creativity in an environment free from judgment, building all-around resilience.
- Instilling appreciation and gratitude, moulding humility, and modeling behaviour.

For this year’s S.H.E Camp, Catalyst Foundation plans to hold it in Victoria Falls from Monday 7 – Friday 11 August 2023, which will see all sixty-two (62) Zimbabwean and Zambian beneficiaries meet for the very first time which is really exciting!
Donate today, and let’s hope that the Clinician Care Team will survive a night in 'England's most Haunted House', as they strive to create an impact and raise funds to send all beneficiaries from Zimbabwe and Zambia to Camp this August.
