The old flagstone pathway at our beautiful village church - St Ambrose, Grindleton - has been dug up and the flags stolen, as you can see in the photos.
This is a shocking crime: everyone in our small rural community is horrified by such desecration. St Ambrose Church has played an important part in the lives of so many families, and many people both locally and further afield have been upset to hear about this.
The PCC (Parochial Church Council) are in touch with the police and the church insurers, and there is much goodwill with offers of help from local tradespeople. The path will be refurbished in due course, at a cost of thousands, which will mostly be met through our buildings insurance cover.
We are asking for your help to raise funds for CCTV to protect the future of St Ambrose, our much-loved village church.
We are very grateful for any amount you can give.
