We have been asked by members of the community to set up a fundraising page, to allow us to add CCTV to our existing system. So that we can protect the play areas within the park and woodland, and to deter potential mindless vandalism to the community equipment. We have had a few near misses of late and the last thing people want to do is continue to fundraise to replace much loved equipment.

Mount Vernon Community Hall contacted Glasgow City Council recently regarding adding CCTV into the park areas and we were told that "Unfortunately, there is no provision for CCTV to be placed in the area. The costs associated with each camera Is usually around £30,000-£40,000". Mount Vernon Community Hall then looked into adding CCTV to their existing system in to the area.To allow us to do this it would cost £5890. At the moment all of our available funds are tied up in essential repairs and maintenance within the hall to allow it to keep the hall running in the future.

We understand given the current climate money is tight at the moment for everyone. If you would like to help contribute towards purchasing additional CCTV any contribution is much appreciated. Just giving's minimum donation is £2.
