Our existing workshop facilities are not adequate for either our present activities or for further development. They provide insufficient space to accommodate all our workshop activities and this often requires work to be done outside at the mercy of the weather. The 40-foot container, which serves as a mechanical workshop and store, is in poor condition; it lets in rain-water and is cold in winter with attendant condensation.

The new workshop will be built in place of the 40-foot container and will be twice the width. It will address the problems of both existing workshops and will furthermore enable us to develop a wider range of facilities and attract more members.

Our Men’s Shed serves not only its members but also the wider community, such as schools, other charitable organisations and local people. We repair many items to extend their life and prevent them from going into the waste system. For members, our Shed supports their well-being by providing occupation, friendship and preventing isolation.

The new workshop will enable us to do even more of these things.
