Story
On 31 October, I’ll be stepping outside my comfort zone and taking part in the Firewalk at Falcon Square, to raise money and awareness for mental health and wellbeing support across the Highlands. The Firewalk will take place from 6pm, so feel free to come and show your support if you are available.
As CEO of Centred, I have seen first-hand the profound impact that good mental health support can have on people's lives, helping them recover, build resilience, and realise their potential. Every day I see the positive difference our staff and volunteers make to people’s lives.
Genuine, compassionate mental health and wellbeing support is so important because mental health can underpin every aspect of our lives, influencing our relationships, our work, and our ability to participate fully in our communities. Centred supports people across the Highland's to improve their mental health, build confidence and recognise their strengths.
What means the most to me is that we put people at the heart of everything we do. Every person we support is treated with dignity, compassion and respect, and we work to make sure people can access support when they need it, particularly before they reach crisis point.
Mental health affects us all, whether through our own experiences or those of family, friends, colleagues or members of our community.
Taking part in the Firewalk is my way of supporting Centred while challenging myself to do something completely outside my comfort zone. Walking across fire will only take a few minutes, but the money raised can help provide support that makes real, lasting postivie change to someone’s life.
The Firewalk will take place from 6pm, so feel free to come and show your support if you are available.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.
