My name is Vanessa Gunter. I am a local flautist and music teacher and in my spare time I lead Claines Church Choir and Instrumental Group. I am also a keen triathlete, but what many people don't know is that I have ME/CFS. This is a chronic and complex condition that affects the neurological and immune system, resulting in pain and exhaustion, often with no obvious cause. I am incredibly fortunate that I am able to largely control my symptoms through careful lifestyle management, and I wouldn't have been able to do this without the love and support of everyone around me.

This year at Claines Church we are celebrating that there has been a worshipping community on this site for 1066 years, and to mark that I am challenging myself to run 1066 miles in one year which averages at around 20 miles a week.

Every penny we raise will go towards our church project to install better facilities for hospitality and towards research into ME/CFS. I consider myself extremely blessed to be able to run and am always thankful when I can set off on a training session.
