Support Our Team on the Big Hike Challenge!
Part of the community for over 100 years, Charlotte Straker House is a warm and welcoming non-profit care home located in Corbridge, Northumberland. We’re dedicated to supporting the health and happiness of our elderly residents. We offer a range of care options to suit individual needs. Our comfortable 32-bed care home provides residential and nursing care, while our eight supported living bungalows offer greater independence. We also offer free of charge short term respite care as well as a day care service for those needing extra support.
Our staff team at The Charlotte Straker Project are taking on a 20km (12-mile) hike along Hadrian’s Wall, from Walltown Country Park to Housesteads Visitor Centre, on Sunday 17th May 2026, to raise funds for our Development Fund.
The Development Fund helps us improve facilities and resources for our residents and visitors, ensuring everyone who comes to our home enjoys a welcoming, safe, and inspiring environment.
The walk includes tough terrain, steep ascents to 1000ft, and will involve 7–8 hours of hiking. Our team will be supported along the route by Northumberland National Park Volunteer Rangers, Challenge Northumberland, and the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team.
Every donation will help enhance our residents’ experience and improve the spaces enjoyed by our staff, volunteers, visitors, and the wider community.
Please sponsor our team and help us make a real difference!
