Once more this year the pandemic is not allowing us to hold our annual Rotary May Fair, which would have generated funds for the purchase of the Bugzi. Instead, we have started this campaign and by donating to this fundraising, you will help us to buy one and join us in giving disabled children the opportunity to be mobile, to explore and learn about their environment and to play with other children.
A Bugzi is a very small powered wheelchair which gives very young, under 5, disabled children the chance to move independently and is an excellent learning tool for acquiring control and cause-and-effect skills.
The Bugzi we purchase will be part of the Bugzi Loan System which is operated by MERU (part of the Queen Elizabeth Foundation). MERU works with the slogan "from disabilities to possibilities" and that is what the Bugzi does - it gives mobility to disabled young children.
Thank you.
