East Kent Hospitals charity is the NHS charity for EKHUFT and raises funds for the wards and services provided by them. We are enormously grateful for any support we receive, whether it is a financial donation, helping to raise awareness of our work, planning a fundraising event.

Story

Chemotherapy can be draining, both physically and mentally. For everyone from what ever walk of life the chemo units will work with you in the strong hope of returning to your capable self. All the staff will encourage you to listen to your body and rest and make sure you eat to fuel your body.Everyone is different and responds differently.

The units will help you prepare yourself for common side effects such as fatigue, weakness, hair loss, and nausea, your experience may be very different from what you expected. Some side effects, such as dry mouth and diarrhoea, are not as noticeable to outsiders and are therefore not as widely discussed. Your body is unique, so how it responds will also be unique.

The charity helps all the units with those little extras that it is not possible to fund under the NHS. Every little bit helps and we hope you will consider making a donation.
