Children First Derby have been supporting children, young people and their families for over 50 years, we need your help to raise £50,000.
The charity’s founding aim is the relieve the distress and suffering experienced by children and families in the local area. The work we do focuses on aspiration, early intervention and prevention.
Children First Derby provides three bespoke services; a Family Support Service, A Mentoring Service, and a Supervised Family Time Service for children in care.
The charity operates from its premises in Leopold Street in Derby, and is run by a dedicated team of staff and local volunteers.
Today, we face one of the most serious challenges in history. We have more demand than ever, the complexity is more than it has ever been, and the cost of delivering the service has increased. Without urgent support from the community, the future of our work is at risk.
This support is invaluable, helping the young person to improve self esteem, confidence, attendance at school and to make better life choices. An hour may not seem a lot, but it can make all the difference to the young people we support.
Children First Derby gave me a safe place, where I felt listened to and I was made to feel confident to speak up. I don't want to know where I would be without them.
The improvement it has had on my confidence is amazing, it would be nowhere near this if I hadn't had Children First Derby's support.
Our first milestone is £15,000 this will deliver over 200 hours of 1:1 support for young people. £50 will go towards helping children and young people overcome the challenges they have.
