Story

Thank you for choosing to support the Children of War Fundraising appeal

The Children of war are facing a terrifying situation already traumatised and suffering having witnessed conflict, violence, the loss of their loved ones and destruction of their homes and livelihoods. They are now reliant on aid to survive -and at risk from their fragile health system is under enormous strain and on the brink of collapsing.

We need your support to help rebuild the livelihoods of these children, your generosity and support will help provide life-saving food parcels to children and families, suffering in war-torn communities.

While we all enjoy Ramadan in the comfort of our homes with ample food to sustain us each day, there are children all over the world who do not have this privilege. No child should suffer from the long-term effects of hunger, especially in the holy month. This is the unfortunate reality for many Palestinian, Rohingya refugees and Syrian, Yemeni, Afghan, Kashmiri and Somalian children who are suffering in environment s of persecution and war. Malnutrition, waterborne diseases and a lack of safe shelter are the daily dangers these children face.

• There are an estimated 2.8 million IDPs in north-west Syria. 80% of them are women and children.

Here is your chance to make a difference. This Ramadan, we need your help to ensure that these children receive the food they so desperately need. Just £100 can provide one food parcel that will feed a family for an entire month. Each parcel includes staple food for a family of up to 7 members, which works out to 420 meals for the entire month. With basic food items like flour, oil and rice affected by rising inflation, your support is needed more than ever before. Furthermore, by providing just 1 parcel you can gain the reward of up to 210 Ramadan fasts that would normally take us 7 lunar years to fast.

This is based on the following hadith:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ’Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person’. [Tirmidhi]
